Poll: Just how hyped for the upcoming GalaCon are you?
OMG I'M SO HYPED I CAN'T WAIT GONNA EXPLODE!!!
HYPE TRAIN! ^^
I'm really glad it's going to happen.
I'm saving my excitement for the day I'm finally there.
Meh... Nothing to be hyped about.

[2017] GalaCon Hype Thread
#41
There is a question in my mind since a few days.
Would it really change a thing, if we'd come every day and hype the GalaCon by writing things like "GalaCon is going to be sooo awesome!" and other stuff? I think it wouldn't. It wouldn't make time go fly faster and it wouldn't make the GalaCon more awesome, because THIS is quite impossible. GalaCon IS awsome and always will be.
So, it would be fun to hype everyday, but there is no reason cause nothing changes by hyping. Don't get me wrong, it's not forbidden, but in my eyes senseless. GalaCon will happen, and it will be awesome. There is nothing more I need to know.
In the meanwhile most of us are busy living the regular life, going to work, meeting family and friends and all the stuff. And the Orga of course is rotating to get everything done for GalaCon. I don't think they get bored ^. ~
So let's go on and wait patiently for time going by, do our stuff and get excited. And I'm pretty sure, everypony IS excited for GalaCon, but I don't think it's necessary to show it. Cause everypony knows and that's good :)

See ya'll in about three months :)

That was hype (and more, far more work) for me - to see, what we can do, as if we can break the record from 487 plushies from last year. I and the Team behind that work the whole year for that - all mid-range events what happend in germany were running-tests only for the Galacon.

And the hype is getting better, if we don't had a fail - at the collecting and the returning of the plushies. That are the only times when i have hype for / at the Galacon.

That, indeed, sounds more like hyping at the GalaCon, not for the GalaCon. But the PlushieCon is, indeed, one of the cutest events ever! Twilight happy

Exactly that was i meaning. I have actually in front to much to do - so that i don't have the time for hype, or i didn't think about hyping. At least, it's my fifth GalaCon - and the third as volunteer...

I believe you miss the point of the hype... It is not about just going to some forum and shouting out about how much you're hyped about this or that. No, I want to see more of the international GalaCon hype not only so I could join in and share it, but also meet some new people and make some new frrends among the other bronies that hype for such an awesome event! And then I could also look forward to meeting those bronies at the GalaCon in person, we could stick together at the GalaCon, go to the other places in Ludwigsburg after the GalaCon ends... There's much more to the GalaCon hype than you believe there is.

After all... that's exactly how I have met you.
Sincerely,
Humanarian.

I think it's a combination of factors: most of the attendees are going to Galacon not for the first time, so the hype is not so big (works the same as big romantic love - lasts for like two or three years max; when it continues, it's different feeling: good, but not so intense) and the second thing is that less people share their feelings publicly online, because of trolls and idiots whose spoils it almost every time.

A lot of people are really looking forward to it, just not stating that visibly - for many of us ponies gave us a big emotional uplifting in past years and the hype in the beginning was so big, that it's impossible to make it even bigger.

I'm always looking forward to visit Galacon - to see the guests, to attend any program that will be there, to meet old friends (literally hundreds of bronies now) and also new people. Also have fun and/or make some fun within the boundaries and spirit of the con  RD deals with it

Ah, it is such a pleasure to meet the brony who's really hyped about GalaCon here, on this very board. I can't help but agree with you when it comes to meeting your old international friends and making new ones. It really is something special, and the GalaCon spirit only makes it better! As for the people who do not state their hype visibly... if that is due to the fact they are really shy about being bronies, well, isn't that exactly what the boards like this are for? After all...

Fine, I'm out. It's less than a month left 'till GalaCon, and this board is as dead as it has always been. I'm tired of hoping that it might ever change.

I'm leaving, there's nothing for me to enjoy here.
Sincerely,
Humanarian.

The only reason I am here is because the Gala Team demands it for volunteers. And this is a restricted area which u can't see. Most likely the only place with posts on a daily frequency.
So yeah sorry for u but I could have told you all that like 3 years ago.

GalaCon: finally meeting normal people - and friends, of course! - , not those "construction noise terrorists" that keep haunting me in my house in Mainz. Really look forward it - and doing something useful with PlushieCon.

Now I have three night shifts, then vacation begins. Me and Rainbow-Dave will be travelling by car, wish us luck!) to Ludwigsburg on Thursday, and on Friday, the "madness" will begin once again RD deals with it Leaving Ludwigsburg on Monday ( Fluttershy sad ), regular day off on Tuesday, then 1.5 weeks of work left... hopefully without construction noise terrorism. After that, from mid-August, I'm off to vacation.

Well... let's make it the best GalaCon and PlushieCon this venue has seen so far Twilight smile Brohoof

Unfortunatelly, I had no chance to attend GalaCon 2016. However, I was still there... in the form of my "Lady GalaCon" poem that Rebecca Shoichet had read at the closing ceremony.

I was present in 2015 though.

Да, но говорю только мало по—русский... извини...

I learned some Russian in school, but that was ages ago. However, sometimes I can still use a bit RD wink - and my smartphone offers a Cyrillic keyboard, so I can't stand the temptation to use it RD deals with it
