Its actually quite some work to keep updating all of the forums, we are also running a convention this year (CZQ) and keeping posts updated and alive on French/Germany/Austria/Poland/Czech&Slovak/Croatian forums as well as Facebook & Twitter channel is pretty intense and the work piles up. Not to mention media outlets such as EqD, web of the con and web of the organisation body /).-

404c. certainly deserves a medal for running things for so many years =)

Not really. This will be my 4th GalaCon as part of the core team, and I'm just one of many. Others do more, and some have been in the team for longer. Praise them.

I am looking forward to that moment when a lot of accepted volunteers come to this board for discussing the details and, perhaps, make it a bit more... alive.

Humanarian.

Oh, I will be there. Con ticket is booked, hotel is booked. But my spare time until GalaCon shall rather be spent finally making music (like I've been planning to for the better part of the last almost six years) so that I don't come to the Con empty-hoofed again.

That is a pleasure to hear, we could really use more bronies here. I've booked the ticket and hotel as well, and now just can't wait for GalaCon 2017 to happen! RD wink

I get hyped once my internet connection is back.
Wait, 'buried in work' it was, not 'hyped'. My bad.

That's not really helping, you know... I understand that you guys work really hard and do your very best. And I am sure that all of the bronies are truly thankful to you for that. But please, don't make it sound like it's not worth the result. The GalaCon itself. Because to me... it's a highlight of the entire year!
Sincerely,
Humanarian.

For us it is also a highlight and worth it. But the con is coming soon - and there is so much todo till we are ready todo the opening. (Also 404 has no internet and has thus more todo for the volunteers ^^)

This forum always has been pretty quiet, since it is mostly used for english support requests, general suggestions, volunteer questions and less for general hype.
Most of the hype happens at the Bronies.de Thread (German) and on Twitter (English).
You also have to consider that there are currently about 5-6 other medium size meetups planned in Germany between now and GalaCon, so the hype "distributes" across multiple events.

I do understand that GalaCon always happens in Germany, but it's an international event, the biggest in the Europe! And an international-level hype is exactly what I'm not observing...

Like Leon said, this forum ist mostly used for volunteer stuff.
Me personally? Not really hyped about something, that is worthy writing about. I don't care much for the star and/or community guests so far.

I already saw the Crebers + BlackGryph0n during my first GalaCon 2015. And even then I didn't care much about them, tbh. I even skipped their panel back then.

And Ashleigh Ball is just another voice actor in my opinion (please don't kill me, Sky Fang!).

Don't get me wrong, I am pretty sure, they are all going to make a great show, panel or whatever, but in the end I am way more excited about the general GalaCon feeling.
Opportunities to buy more merch, meeting old and new friends, volunteering and so on.

I was way pretty hyped last year, tho...Rebecca Shoichet was amazing!

Every guest, visitor, panelist, seller... everyone who come to the GalaCon contributes to the "GalaCon feeling" you mentioned. And everything that is a part of that feeling is something to hype for!

Of course, meeting everyone is one of those things.
Sincerely,
Humanarian.

i'm only in hype when it's 7:00h AM on the saturday morning at the GalaCon - 'cause that is that part, where i start my work: collect so many plushies für the evening, that we must stop the owners bringing us plushies - 'cause we don't have more space for one.

That was hype (and more, far more work) for me - to see, what we can do, as if we can break the record from 487 plushies from last year. I and the Team behind that work the whole year for that - all mid-range events what happend in germany were running-tests only for the Galacon.

And the hype is getting better, if we don't had a fail - at the collecting and the returning of the plushies. That are the only times when i have hype for / at the Galacon.

That, indeed, sounds more like hyping at the GalaCon, not for the GalaCon. But the PlushieCon is, indeed, one of the cutest events ever! Twilight happy

GalaCon is always full of amazing events and even more amazing people. That's why I don't hesitate for even a moment to gather money and fly to the GalaCon all the way from Russia! I'll be meeting you there, comrades! Salute
Sincerely,
Humanarian.

Or Jamis from Praha... same thing, basically.

Well, not exactly :) I just prefer English over German, because it's still easier for me. I can speak or understand, but not for a longer time, 'cause it costs a lot of brain energy. But things are slowly getting better.

I think it's a combination of factors: most of the attendees are going to Galacon not for the first time, so the hype is not so big (works the same as big romantic love - lasts for like two or three years max; when it continues, it's different feeling: good, but not so intense) and the second thing is that less people share their feelings publicly online, because of trolls and idiots whose spoils it almost every time.

A lot of people are really looking forward to it, just not stating that visibly - for many of us ponies gave us a big emotional uplifting in past years and the hype in the beginning was so big, that it's impossible to make it even bigger.

I'm always looking forward to visit Galacon - to see the guests, to attend any program that will be there, to meet old friends (literally hundreds of bronies now) and also new people. Also have fun and/or make some fun within the boundaries and spirit of the con  RD deals with it
